Very cheap compard to UK prices. Not sure if the US version will give you the same thrills as the European version. Check output and weight before buying and make sure it is an original car.

this is what i got as differences

What distinguishes a Euro-spec E30 M3 mechanically from a North American version?
Except for a different air intake arrangement, the North American-spec E30 M3 carries essentially the same powerplant as the early catalyst-equipped European-spec model. It is rated at 192 hp (SAE) at 6,750 rpm, which translates to a European rating of about 195 hp (DIN). Torque is an identical 170 lb/ft at 4,750 rpm. The only significant powertrain difference concerns the gearbox, which is a Getrag 260 with a standard shift pattern, as opposed to the European-spec model’s close-ratio Getrag box with its dogleg first gear location. The use of the conventional shift gate was determined to be more easily acceptable to Americans, and the wider ratios (shared with the E30 325i) are offset by a shorter 4.10:1 final drive.

But what makes an e30 M3 and E30 M3......dog leg gearbox, direct lineage to a European Touring Car. What did BMW USA create a 325i with an M3 body.

I would buy the car if you are happy with its paperwork, it is accident and corrosion free and drives well, then set about returning to its former European glory.

Have a look around S14power.com, lots of knowledge on there with several US spec car owners who Im sure can fill in any gaps. Its not uncommon to hear US cars being retro fitted with dogleg boxes and changing diff ratio's.

Given that it's dirt cheap and likely to have better escaped the wrath of Lord Tinworm, I should think it's a veritable bargain yes

Spend a couple of $$$$ on the 'box and diff' swap and I should think you'll have yourself a very merry Christmas.

OP ask the question re value here

Yes, sorry I forgot about that, due to recent spate of spamming.

Im thinking about selling mine soon, if that helps at all.

Here's a few pictures taken by the rather brilliant Alisdair Cusick for an upcoming Total 911 article. Car was filthy at the time as I'd just done a 4 hour journey in the pissing rain to get to the location. Still looks pretty nice though, in my opinion. But then I would say that, wouldn't I?
