Hi,

a simple question, how do I know what type of service I need? On my i-drive it tells me I need a service (popped up today) and looking at the service indicators it tells me that the oil needs changing.

There seem to be three service types, oil, insp 1 and insp 2 but how do I know which?

thanks

On the E60 M5 is it not the case that the old Oil Service, Inspection 1 and Inspection 2 servicing routine is done away with in favour of Condition Based Servicing.

If that's the case and the computer is saying "change engine oil", then that is all that will be done, plus a new oil filter of course.

I would have though your service book would indicate which service is next? As long as it's all up to date thats were I would be looking.

Hope this helps.

Neil.

I would have thought so too - but it just has a ticklist type of look and the dealer ticks each thing they do every time it goes in.

No mention of routine, just talks about condition based.

Having said all of that I am sure the stealer is likely to find other things that "need" doing.
