E46 m3 drivers side front wheel arch

Hi there,

just recently bought a 53 plate m3 and whilst cleaning it for the first time i noticed that the drivers front wheel arch trim is only partially present unlike the opposite side which has the complete plastic trim down to the base of the front bumper. Is this the norm as i also noticed that as a result of this the mechanical parts associated with the front bumper as exposed. Sorry if the info is a bit vague!
