Can someone save me a trip to the local dealer?

Every photograph I see of imola red leather shows it to be bright, bright red. Like power-lipstick red, or vodafone red.

Is it really that red? Or more crimson and muted? I'm rather hoping it's one of those colours that digital cameras have real problems with.

A friend of mine has this on his M3 and I would say it is more muted than it appears in photos. Not quite crimson but not lipstick red.

It always looks much brighter in pictures than it actually is.

On the E92 it looks to be a much deeper red than on the Z4. I have no idea why.

Its like an oxblood red colour in the flesh. Looks great with carbon black and steel grey exteriors. Generally, if the pic is taken with a flash, it comes out in dogc0ck lipstick red.

In my Z4 it's more of a slightly orangey-red. In the pics below, the mats are bright (Vodafone) red whereas the seats and gear lever gaiter are Imola Red.

Thanks all. I see the point now about using a flash. Shots of cars taken from a distance show a darker and deeper tone. The cabin shots, where the flash has gone off, look a bit more slaughterhouse...

No, it's from leatherz.com in the US.

Nope. The arm rests are from Leatherz too.
