E46 M3 colour combinations
Discussion
I've driven an M3 and loved everything about it. I'm seriously considering buying one, and I've seen a massive range of interior/exterior combinations in the ads. Obviously this comes down to personal preference in the end, but are there any particularly strong combinations for re-sale value?
And maybe even more importantly, any particularly disastrous, unpopular combinations?
And any strong views about which colours come across as bad taste?
Thanks in advance.

All personal - your toy, buy what you prefer mate. But in my opinion:And maybe even more importantly, any particularly disastrous, unpopular combinations?

Good for resale:
Imola leather with Carbon, Steel, Silver
Black leather with Carbon, Steel, Silver (very common), White (if you can find one), Red
Bad for resale
Blue leather with Laguna
Beige leather with Phoenix
Imola with Red
As I say, all IMHO
Definately personal choice.
For resale, there's pluses and minuses - go for something popular like Carbon with Imola, or Silver with black and you won't offend anyone, but there will be a lot of competition and your car wont stand out.
Go with something like Imola Red, Pheonix or Laguna Seca and people will either run a mile or queue for a mile - they're colours you either really want, or really DON'T want so buying you might be looking for a while, selling you might have to wait a while.
Either way, IMO, buy the colour you like - its going to be your car, so buy it and enjoy it and worry about re-sale when the time to sel finally comes.

Thanks for all the comments. Nice to hear such a range of opinions, which kind of supports the idea that there is a market for most combinations so less cause to worry about resale and just go purely on own tastes. In my case I'm quite keen on grey or silver exterior with red leather, or black with beige leather. Not sure I've actually seen any M3s with the latter, maybe just 330s.
The most "striking", if that's the right word, of all combinations I'd seen was red-on-red! Very warm. No doubt it would produce strong love or hate reactions. It seemed a bit cheaper than other cars that were same age, mileage and spec, maybe because of this, but that could have been just down to the usual amount of variation within used car pricing.

Yep, like the grey and red combo
However, ended up buying Carbon with grey interior (having been a bit "iffy" about grey in the past)
Now love it, plus I spend far too much time laughing and smiling at almost every mile that passes to give a toss what colour the seats are

(though.....Laguna Seca interior?
)
