The key fob failed on my car this morning, so I opened the car with the key and the alarm went off (No surprises there) Bought a new battery, and it still didn’t work, so bought a new key fob (£42 from BMW) and took it in to get it programmed. The BMW garage then informed me that when the alarm is activated on the car (E36 M3 Cab) the unit “fails” and has to be replaced (£250). Are they having a fkin laugh?

Did they even bother to plug it into their diagnostics and try to access the alarm module?

phone Phil Crouch if all elses fails on 01923283274 or call Stewart at Highams Park Motors nr Edmonton. aint got his number

they are two great lads to deal, I've got an exquisite e36 M3 cab and they do it justice for minimal cost. Same thing happened to mine in Golders Green a few weeks back. Luckily I managed to stop the alarm goin off by pressing the fob while in the glove box. Made a right scene but don't go BM's for this sort of thing
