Hi, theres no absolute 'must-have' options because the car is great standard!

Desirable options that might be considered must-haves for resale are probably

EDC
19 inch alloys.
Bluetooth (might be standard, cant remember right now)
USB adapter.

Oh and red looks awesome on the coupe but st on the saloon.

There's a few threads on here about spec. But I'd get EDC, Bluetooth, heated seats, M-DCT, upgraded hifi and 19" wheels

For me it would be....

EDC
USB
Bluetooth
DSP Hi-Fi

And I think I would have it in white on the anthracite 18's, but not seen one so may change my mind. smile

I got my car pre-registered so did not have a choice on spec, but my thoughts:

EDC and 19's - supposed to be essential for re-sale value - my car has both. Ride is very firm even in the softest setting but dynamic mode is very good for pressing on.
Gearbox I think is personal choice - I have a manual and wouldn't want DCT in an M3
I would have always upgraded Hifi - but mine has standard M3 setup which is higher spec than normal 3 series - it's pretty good
USB and bluetooth are essential and I don't think come as standard
DAB is sh*t - good sound but seems to lose the signal every five minutes and goes silent for between 2 and 10 seconds

The only two things that I really would like on my car and don't have are heated seats and the split folding rear seats (the boot is OK unless you are used to something bigger)

As said before, standard car is awsome starting point - the extras are the icing on the cake.

Interesting timing... I've just got home from test driving one of these and I was very impressed. The car had EDC and 19's, I thought the ride in 'normal' was rather compliant for a car such as this. The test drive covered all kinds of road surface and normal coped with the bumpy b road stuff surprisingly well.

The car I drove was a bit over priced though IMO, 08 plate, 19k miles, Silverstone with black leather, EDC, 19's, bluetooth/USB. No heated seats though. Was up at £39950. Other AUC cars of the same age but less mileage are up for the same sort of money.

What would people price the above at?

Agree on the overpricing I bought mine last November with 5k miles for 38. Prices have increased so I would be looking to pay around 37-38 for that car.

Rybrook in Warwick had a sparkling graphite/fox red car in with the same spec and mileage. It was up at £34,950 and not surprisingly sold fairly quickly. At almost £40k that Silverstone car seems overpriced.

Synter Sheffield have a few with the same options but half the mileage for the same money. Not too sure on the Silverstone colour, but not too sure on the red leather either.

It sounds expensive - the 20 or so pre-registered cars in the network back in March were typically £39,950 before starting to haggle, and they were Feb 09 registered cars.

Good to see people agree on the pricing.

I'd want something other than black with red or silvestone with black though. They seem the most common combo by far? Are there any wIth black and black? Quite like them in blue too.
