Electric door mirror issues

I've recently had a little trouble with my folding electic door mirrors on my E46 M3. Sometimes when I push the button one/both of them fail to fold in/out.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I've had them do this sporadically on a couple of occasions. Too infrequent for me to really worry about, or even think about starting to investigate a cause.

As you say, another quick press normally cures.

Once refused to unfold after a couple tries when it was raining. Hypothosysing that maybe something was wet and had a bad contact, I turned on the heated window and mirrors, drove a little way (no more than a mile to the next junction), tried the fold-unfold again and all was fine.

Not a great deal of help I'm afraid if it is really causing you regular problems or heartache.
