M3 [(E46) Raidio /CD Problems

I was driving today listening to a CD ,when for no reason the radio came on although i never prompted it
And now the radio is on and the only button that works on the front face Plate of the stereo is the navigation button for GPS/TV etc
The volume is stuck high not even the volume works
And also the power on light sometimes goes off although the radio is still on,AND IT WONT SWITCH OFF,only when the key is removed will it turn off
Anyone know what i need to do???

I think the usual first port of call is to disconnect the battery and leave it for 15/20 mins before reconnecting to see if this resets it.

I already tried disconnecting the battery
And still no joy
