Been offered a px with a M3 for my car, but although it looks nice in the pics, its done 130k miles! its LSB colour, nigh on top spec, HK stereo, sunroof, blue leather, sat nav/tv etc, CSL wheels and new tyres. Owner values it at £10.5k, though with what I've seen on net I'd say it would more likely sell for around 9k max. What do you think? Obviously fsh is a must, but if it drives nicely and has a good history then the mileage is still high, is it really worth 10.5k? mmm...

Provided the M3 had provenance, then there's no reason why 130k miles should be a major problem. The only issue I can detect in your post is one of price. It is overpriced at £10.5k. There are similarly aged cars with 50k less on the clock going for that kind of outlay. If it can be bought for £8.5k or thereabouts I'd say that's more realistic.

In a word - yes.

Mine has done fairly high milage now (about the same as what you've mentioned) and i would definatly not be put off by a well looked after high milage car with plenty of history.

Price is the only problem there..

£10.5k is way over the odds for a car with 130k on the clock..

£8.5k maybe

I was offered a fully loaded 2001 M3 convertible by a local dealer with 110k on the clock about 18months ago and they only wanted 11k

You'll find it hard to shift with that mileage unless it's cheap. Sadly regardless of how well the mechanical bits will hold up perception among the car buying public is that over 100k = bad..

yes exactly! although gone are the days of engines needing a rebuild as soon as they hit 100k, the general opinion when selling them is that they are worthless! I've owned some nice cars in great mechanical and asthetic condition before with high miles, but as said yes, its the price that I'm thinking the owner is very optimistic about! I 'would' buy his car (all being good) but wouldn't want to pay any more than 8.5k for it with that mileage!
