All of the 25 to 30 pre-registered saloons that went into the BMW network in March this year had EDC.
Also the contract hire deal that BMW were offering on Coupes in Jan and Feb this year were based upon 19's and EDC. If you asked for a spec without EDC,it did not lower the monthly contract hire cost which indicates the 'official view' of the importance of EDC for residuals and saleability.

I have a FEB 09 manual with 4K miles with most of the right options including EDC, 19", BT, DAB, Aliminium Trim, PDC front and rear, USB/iPod, Armrest, High Beam Assist. I could be tempted to sell.Edited by paulmon on Friday 18th September 00:09

When I was buying mine it was before BMW dumped the saloons into the market and I would say of the 80 odd cars on sale at that time only around a 1/3 had EDC. Those saloons were certainly a bargain with most of them going for £40K with del miles. Also the contract hire deal that BMW were offering on Coupes in Jan and Feb this year were based upon 19's and EDC. I first noticed some pre-registered saloons on the AUC website around the end of Nov last year. They may have been the tail end of a bigger batch. I don't recall whether they had EDC or not. There were more than 10 when I started thinking whether to buy and they were priced from recollection around £42K.
By the time I decided it was a good price to get a delivery miles M3, they had all gone.
Then in early March this year around 25 to 30 pre-registered saloons were put into the network. They all had exactly the same spec, just different colour combinations and prices - I know because I did a spreadsheet of prices and colour combinations to decide which dealers to approach. Most of them were £39K or £40K with a couple at £41K and £42K.
You could then haggle from the sticker price. My car had 16 miles on the clock when I collected it.

Anybody know how much the pre-reg Saloons of last year were sold for?
They were advertised at £39-41k ish, but might have sold for a bit less that, given the market was f8cked at the time.when buying my coupe last oct/nov I took the same view as I would with a cayman or 997 where PASM makes it's money up on resale; I like the flexibility of EDC as I live in London. If I had found the car I wanted without EDC it would have to be approx £2k-£1500 cheaper than an equivalent EDC car
