That'll be oil and filter.

Ask what it will be after they change your microfilters as well and charge you for the courtesy car. (FWIW, those were £28+VAT and £15+VAT on my plain jane E46)

I just had an oil service. The trouble is it was the third one and apparently that includes diff and SMG oil change as well. So it came to £450.

For God's sake, just do it yourself for under £70 for quality sythetic oil/filter & VANOS filter & personally annotate the Service Book & staple the receipts to it! All of 30 minutes!

Well if you've done that to your car and I was coming to view to buy...I'll walk away with my money. One thing getting a specialist...another having a HOME Service. Only a oil service but you might be useless and I could end up with oil pissing everywhere on the M1 home.

I do not dispute that the costs these dealers charge are far too high but at least if something went wrong it would be fixed under the BMW umbrella.

I'm a car enthusiast. Check my profile garage of cars I've had. Some had full dealer, some had specialist. Not one was ever serviced at home. I just couldn't do it.
