Guys

I'm looking at purchasing a 130i M Sport on a 08 plate. Around £19k with 4k on the clock. I've noticed that there are a few 135i's starting to creep into the same price bracket. Cheapest 135 I have seen £23435. Should I be concerned about re-sale due to the 135 being a more desirable car?. I am looking at keeping the 130 approx 2 years.

Cheers

I would find the extra money and get the 135i - over 2 years of driving the extra outlay will be insignificant

130i haven't really ever been great when it comes to re-sale

With 135's starting to become more plentiful over the next couple of years I can't see that situation improving.

Guys thanks for the comments so far. I don't want to choose between the two cars. The 135i or the coupe in general is not really suitable. I I fly medium scale model aircraft, they won't easily fit in the coupe hence the hatch idea. I was after a decent hot hatch. I have test driven the Golf R32, Golf GTi and the 130i M. The 130 M sport hands down felt like the more enjoyable car.

I would take the 130i over the 135i anyway, a much nicer and more fun car to drive.

I liked my 335i but it was no where near as rewarding to drive as the sublime NA 3.0i straight six.

You do realise the 130i has now been pulled as it is about to be replaced with the 135i on the hatch???

Hi Gizlaroc

Thanks for the reply. I have read some info about the turbo based hatch coming Autumn 2011. Is this the one you mean ?. It could de-value the car however that's a little way off. I still think there will be a market for the older 130i as there will be a big price difference by the time the new one arrives.
