Comprehensive with emergency service and £100 excess £835. Change the excess to £250 the premium drops to £690.

Got to be the latter I think. What says you lot?

Depends on how many claims you make. Make more than one and the more expensive one suddenly becomes the better value one.

Everything under £250 will be your own problem (although very little at a dealer will be that cheap).

I have just done my warranty renewal. I dropped the emergency cover as the car will not be going to europe and then put the excess down to zero and it came to about £850. So as far as I am concerned it will be another year with no hassle. Also I was told by the chap on the phone that although I dropped the emergency cover they would still pick the car up in the UK and take it to the nearest BMW dealer. I would give them a call and ask them how much zero excess would be ETC and take it from there.

How comprehensive is the cover BMW offer?

Is there lots of "wear and tear" caveats or are they pretty good at paying out?

cheers

There are quite a lot of wear and tear items, exhaust brakes etc but it is an M car and what would worry the hell out of me is the thought of the engine or gearbox going and I know, that if that was the case then it would be covered regardless of the cost. Some other warranty companies only offer up to 5k per claim.

Good point on the number of claims. Never thought of that.

I've got the same thought process to go through next month, along with paying £700 for insurance and £400 for VED. Ah well it's only money, and I can always do an IVA.
