Hi all,

driving home tonight I noticed an odd engine noise, which sounded a bit like the tappet noise from a car from my youth.

Only happened between 3,500 and 4,500 rpm under acceleration. Constant load and noise went away, deceleration through the range and no noise. Once it got to 4,500 rpm noise went away.

Deffo sounded top end although it wasnt very loud. Will ring dealer tomorrow but does anybody have any bright ideas as to what it could be?

think it is a fuel issue - I normally use Shell V Power but due to an extreme shortage I filled up using esso at a local garage and they didnt have any premium stuff at all.

Have now re filled with Shell V Power and the noise has gone away again. Anyway car going into dealers this week to have a look anyway.
