having had my car for a few weeks now i am enjoying it even in the wet weather! But I do have a few little quesions/niggles I was hoping someone could shed some light on:

Can you run these cars on 95? IMO I would think yes as it has knock sensors etc but not sure...

My fuel filler cap will not lock when car is locked, on my E30 M3 it did so am assuming this car should too?

The light switch area does not light up when I turn the lights on, should it?

Many thanks in advance.

with regards to question 1, assuming it would run fine just be a bit down on power and perhaps mpg?

with reference to your fuel filler cap lock question, i have this issue with my E36 M3 at the moment, rather wierdly it does lock when i use the passenger side lock, but not when i use the drivers side lock.
Looking at the Elec troubleshooting discs for the E36 it shows the passenger side door lock motor connects directly to the petrol locking flap, the drivers side goes round the houses a bit. Easiest way to tell is if your drivers side activates the boot lock motor, then it's more likley to be a wiring issue rather than the door lock motor as it's the same output.

For info, have a look in some previous threads on here about which fuel to use.

The general consensus is to use higher octane fuel, even if just for the cleansing properties of that fuel.
thanks for this, I would agree but I do find myself sometimes unable to find super so have to use normal just glad it won't do any harm

I am going to run my own simple experiment, use super for three tanks and them normal and see what the difference is...

I think I have read in the hand book that these run on 95, i put it mine and doesnt seem to effect it, apart from a bit of pinking at low revs, this happens if i go over a speed bump and start to pull away in third. Tried 98 and it went away
