Expect to kill a set of tyres and brakes, far far too heavy to be a track car IMHO!

agree re the tyres, but the brakes hold up pretty well actually.

Donnington, Oulton Park, Spa & many Nordschleife laps in my E60 M5 & i never had any problems.

The car was very capable & could easily dispatch more capable machines. Don't get me wrong, it will never be a track car, but i guess their must be good reason why the Ring Taxi's are M5's.

Rear tyres will take a battering but unless you're insane, you'll not get close to killing a set even over several track days. As for brakes, you'll use about the equivalent of 1500-2000 miles wear over a track day, so again not really a dent when compared to the fun you'll have.

I did 2 days at Nordschleife & 2 days at Spa back to back, at worst I used half the tread on my rear rears with 30%ish used on the fronts & about 40% of the front pads & 25% of the rears. The trip also included some very fast European road driving naturally.

Tyre and break wear is obviously very dependent on a drivers style and experience of track days....I think if you're new to it you could easily go through a set of tyres and cook the brakes.

M5 is the only car they can really use as a Ring Taxi given that an M3 really cant take four adults unless in any kind of comfort unless you have some midgets in the front! The ring taxis have modified suspension and brakes....tyres replaced every 10 laps, brakes every 20 and suspension after 50 laps.
