Is it a must have on a new M3? It's an expensive option at 2.2K I have driven a manual which is nice so is it worth it.

Is it recommended I go for one the maintenance packs, I will drive 6K ayear with the odd trackday.

Thanks

Matt

The telling thing with the DCT box is that the lease agreements being offered by BMW are the same price with the DCT and without it.

So basically the dealers are assuming that it'll be a must have in the future.

I have just got my new M3 E90 M-DCT with EDC.
For me it's the ONLY option, I drove the first manuals two years ago and hated them, since then the Saloon model has come out with folding rear seats ( which again was a must have)and M-DCT 7 speed.
The M-DCT is two gearboxs in one, semi-auto and manual, and with slightly higher top gear gives better economy if required.
All things too ME, not all men. Some guys will not want a M3 unless it's manual, persoal choice as always. Test drive both and see.

I agree with this.

I drove a manual E92 ealier this year and came away wondering why anyone would buy one over a nice E39 M5.

After having a punt in the DCT car however...
