Unless you plan to turn it into a track slag, i'd personally go for a OEM wheel as it will be in keeping with the car whilst offering a marked improvement over the momo one (unless you are 18 in which case get the momo and get it out your system now wink)

Option # 2, why do you think it will not fit without mods? All E36's have the same upper steering column, buy the wheel with the airbag and should be a straight fit.

i think it wont fit because of this link :

http://www.dvatp.com/bmw/diy/steering_wheel_conver...

"be advised that the airbags and slip rings for the early years (92-95) are not plug-n-play compatible with those of the later years (96-99). It's not to say that you can't get them to work if you are ready to replace a few extra parts and do some splicing, but you will need more information available from various online forums to make that work."

I thought the other 2 wheels (the "evo" and srs 3 spoke) were the same size anyway.

That is the smallest E36 oem steering wheel, same design as used on the e30 M3, but non airbag.

When I changed my early mahoosive stering wheel for the later 'M' one it fitted straight on without modification at all. The worst you will need is a new slip ring.
