Hi,
Can anyone explain the benefit of attaching an xpipe to my car, i already have an eisenmann mufler fitted?
Many people seem to have them, just not sure what the point is?

Eisenmaan box will give just sound, Xpipe depending which one will increase power, some need a remap with the Xpipe though.

I was thinking of the Supersprint x-pipe to the Eisenmann.
Can you elaborate on what the x-pipe does mechanically, that the stock does not?

It simply eliminates the middle mufflers = more noise (and maybe, just maybe, also more power)

How much more noise?
Any idea if it would enhance the tone, or make ik more boomier?
Im looking for enhance sound (not volume), any additional power would be a benefit but not a must.

does the standard m3 exhaust not have an X pipe?

i don't claim to understanding the science, but after reading about exhausts on the mustang, the x pipe is used to balance the pulse from either bank (or the front and rear cylinders on the straight 6).. this both increases power, drivability and improves sound.... though for ultimate top end power straight through pipes are best i believe

fitted an x-pipe to my e39 m5 with standard back boxes, made the car slightly louder, thats about it. didn't want anything to intrusive this seemed to fit the bill exactly.

center silencers were quite small on the e39
