I have had my 53 plate M3 for around a month now, it has Bi Xenon headlights. I find them great for driving but am finding I am often getting flashed by people that think I am on full beam. The lights auto level when I turn them on and the beams don't look too high when driving. Has anyone else experienced this?

Cheers,

Ed.

Just a thought: my old e36 had the lights set for LHD when I bought it, without me realising - I guess it had been over the Channel at some point. I copped a few flashes until we sussed it.

The lights do auto-level, but only to the height that they have been set at.

If you look at the headlight unit there is an adjuster wheel. Turning this changes the height of the beam.

Perhaps yours needs setting up?

I used to get this quite often when I had my E46 M3. I had the lights checked for alignment or other problems and no issues were found so I guess this car just has very bright lights. This was 2003 though when I guess there were fewer cars around with these lights. That said it does still happen from time to time with my current M6.
