E46 M3 CS - what's it worth?
Discussion
Your considered opinions please... I'm considering selling my current stead. Prices seem to fluctuate somewhat, but I'd like to think that my example would command a price towards the upper end of what I see in the classifieds since many of the expensive jobs have just been done in the last 6 months, namely the Inspection 1 service and full set of OEM M3 tyres. Also under BMW insured warranty which can be transferred.
So what do you reckon?
E46 M3 CS (2005 55-reg)
27,000 miles
Interlagos Blue
Full black leather
DVD Sat-nav & TV
Rear parking sensors
Harmon-kardon upgraded stereo
6 CD multichanger
Manual gearbox
19in OEM CSL style alloys
Inspection 1 service done in last 6 months
Next oil service not due for 10,000 miles (I think)
Whole new set of OEM tyres in the last 6 months (3,000 miles)
11 months MOT
Full BMW service history
Under fully transferable BMW insured warranty
In generally very good tidy condition, though a couple of dings and scuffs from other, less cautious, parkers! One or two stone chips on the front. Completely standard.

Good spec, good colour combination, FBMWSH and still under BMW warranty so I think you should be looking to clear £20k and advertise a couple of grand higher than that. As has been said already, it may be worth getting some of those car park dings sorted if they're obvious; however, I think the odd stone chip is accepted on a 4-year old car!
Good luck with the sale if you decide to proceed! Out of interest, what are you thinking of replacing it with? M3 CS is not an easy act to follow!

Thanks for the opinions guys. I'm getting slightly itchy feet, but there's no doubting that this is a great car to own - it does just about everything you want it to. JNW1 - you're right, not an easy act to follow. I don't particularly have a 'type' of car that I usually go for, as long as it's fun. I nearly got a Caterham last year, but you sure do appreciate the creature comforts at this time of year! Maybe I'll go for a some prime 911 pork - I do quite fancy a Mk1 996 GT3... But who doesn't hey!

The dings do annoy me - some careless a
hole swings open their door without any due care or attention
And I'm fortunate enough to have use of a secure private driveway - I can't imagine what sort of damage would occur if it was on the road

Had an M3 CS for just coming up to 3 years and never had a car so long without getting bored with it; just starting to feel like it may be time for a change but really don't know what I'd replace it with (hence my question!). The M3 is my only car and I don't really want to go the two car route; however, if you want to retain the combination of fun, performance and practicality the CS provides the options start to look a bit limited! This time last year my local dealer had a delivery mileage E92 M3 in the showroom for £41k as against a list price (including extras) of almost £60k; timing wasn't right for me then and sadly I think those deals are gone for the time being!
