Will going out of the dealer network be much of an issue for this part of the service?

Its something I could even do DIY but for ease and my general laziness in this weather, an Indy can do this for peanuts......

I took my E60 M5 to a local garage (I know the owner so trust him), it cost me £30 cash. If you go to BMW you'd be lucky to pay less than £100.

Anything you don't need a book stamping for isn't worth going to BMW for!
