looking at changing th suspension on my e39 m5, always been a fan of the bilstein b12 kits, but they dont list a spring for the m5, they list a b8 damper which i think ill go for, any one have any experience with them?

also what spring d opeople go for, only want around 25mm lower, want to try and keep the ride relitavly user friendly, mainly replacing worn out bits with better uprated bits.

thanks in advance

Sure you want to?

It's a pretty good set up as standard, non?

if its better to stay with standard then i will look at renewing with OE bits to try and freshen it up a bit.

i must admit it is great as standard

I've thought about it but have been metaphorically kipper slapped by all and sundry who have subsequently baulked at the idea.

It really is one of the best damped cars, ever.

Driven one running on Bilstein PSS9 Coilovers - and it was quite incredible - no harshness to the ride, yet incredible stability and control through corners on pitted/rutted roads, sharper steering response and hugely confidence inspiring. The car felt 'brand new'.

If I had the spare funds it would be the first mod I did....

I guess you get what you pay for?

I think they are gettable for circa £900 a set now. Still pricey once you include the fitting cost.

Where can you get them for £900? For that price I'd be all over them.

Cheers
