E46 M3 Oil leak

Hi All,
My E46 M3 has developed an oil leak from what looks like the constant pressure valve at the back of the engine block. Although it's a cheap enough part to get hold of, it looks like a pig to fit. I'm also hoping that the crankshaft oil seal hasn't gone too...
Has anyone had the same problem? If the oil seal has gone is it a costly problem to sort, and does anyone recommend a good place to go? There is no way I'll take it to a stealer, as I want my pride and joy treated with respect. Had too many bad experiences of incompetent fitters at stealers working on my cars, plus they'll empty my wallet for the prividge...
Location-wise I'm based in West Yorks, but somewhere North West would also be good.
