Just browsing on autotrader, as you do, and i was shopcked to see how much Z8's were priced at. I accept they are a stunning vehicle, but thought I saw a decent example going through BCA a year or so ago in the 20's, now the y are 70k upwards.
Am I mistaken......Love those red interiors though.

I was clearly mistaken, where do you see the price going over the next 3 years?
Up.70k tied up in car that you don't use much is quite expensive. At least £5k for cost of funds and basic standing costs.
If you are going to use it all the time, the cost is irrelevant and the pride of ownership & enjoyment priceless.

Sideways more likely.

You think? People who would own a Z8 own several cars. If they have 70k tied up in a car they can afford plenty more......70k tied up in car that you don't use much is quite expensive. At least £5k for cost of funds and basic standing costs.

More a statement of design and a lost styling exercise than a dynamic driving tool. I see one most days in hertfordshire but many are locked away unless you live in Florida, Las Vega$ and Palm Springs Ca, and Los Angeles where they are everywhere!
Seen very few in Germany but there are a few in Switzerland!
Prices will not go up much over the next few years, an M1 is likely to be a better bet for an investment as will an M3 CSL over the next few years.

My best pal is a BMW dealer principal and he was telling me the other day that when the z8 was new he was forced to take a new one and it took forever to sell-and when it did he had to heavily discount it.
Did that not happen with the M3 CSL in 2003/3?MarsellusWallace said:
How things change!!
Indeed, as things will change again as they have done for houses, gold, people...But also to put it onto context, the beautiful Z8 is around the same monetary price as it was new after 8 years of opportunity to become a classic.
Checked on some forums, the M1 was around DM 100,000 (please correct me if I am wrong) which equated to about £30k sterling then, but nearly 51,000 euros (direct DM conversion at 1.95583) = about £46k at current rates of 90p to the euro. Whereas that clearly shows that Sterling has depreciated against the German currency, it also highlights that the M1 has done rather well & doubled if it is over £100k now.
Does that suggest that the Z8 will go the same way although nearly 3 times as many Z8's were made?

Decent lap times at the Nurburgring, similar to the current M3, the M6 etc.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N%C3%BCrburgring_lap_...

I dont remember it being raved about on it's launch, I thought many were let down that it was far more of a cruiser/GT than expected.
