Z4M Roadster Stereo Upgrade

I have just purchased a Z4MR and think the standard stereo is not up to standard,I contacted my local dealer to ask if an upgrade is available to which they said no, they also said i have the best available. (I have the business stereo) Is this correct. thanks in advance for your help.

no yours is the base system, the best is logic 7, and i personally think its the absolute nuts!!

1. All Z4 stereos have the business head unit

2. the loudspeaker hi-fi system has that head unit plus amp(s) and large bass speakers behind the seats

3. the DSP hi-fi system has both of the above plus surround modes and graphic equalizer i believe. The amp might be a little different and slightly more powerful than the loudspeaker system amp.

I had a 53 plate Z4 with the loudspeaker system. It was very loud.

Check behind the seats, do you have storage bins or big speaker grilles?

The DSP is very difficult to retrofit and you'd be better off going with aftermarket options if you discover that you have the basic head unit and no additional speaker systems...

The sat nav system is a different head unit but I presume you dont have that anyway?


ETA: I have logic7 in my 118d, it is very good. Agree with the poster above.

Thanks for that.I think i will look into an after market stereo, just did'nt want to change the look of the dash really.

All Z4 stereos are pants. The Logic 7 is pants and a bit more difficult to mod. Go aftermarket or do without.

agreed! I've had a 2004 Z4 with the top system (rip off) incl CD and now have a 2007 Z4M with the base system. Both are crap and not a patch on a Pioneer £200 headunit and mid mkt Pioneer speakers in my previous cars. If I didn't have the sat nav in the M and therefore the integration with the screen and bluetooth the headunit would be long gone.
