E93 saloon values
Discussion
My daughter's getting bigger so I'm thinking about changing cars in the next 12 months. I like the look of an E93 saloon but am not sure whether it would be a good buy or not. I've driven one, and liked it.
I get the impression that BMW aren't selling many of them so I assume they've got limited appeal vs the coupe. That implies that they might not hold their value so well, but there could be a scenario that their relative rarity will mean that a good one will have strong residuals vs the coupe.
Can anyone in the trade enlighten me? Thanks.

Its the E90 M3 Saloon, the E93 is the cab.
Anyway, that aside, I think the E9x is a pretty rare car in itself.
The Saloon is rare but still has appeal which IMO will help it hold its value better than it may have done otherwise.
The main issue for BMW is that they saturated their forecourts with Saloons at a time when less folk were buying new cars and a saloon @ £53k was probably more than most people wanted or could afford to spend. So they then bought them back and franchises sold them for £40k, but as pre reg's. These flew out of show rooms at that price and it shows that they obviously have appeal.
I am biased as I have one, but from a practicality point of view, there are few cars that touch it IMO other than the RS4 or the c63.
The value side of things, I think saloons are holding their values similar to coupes at the moment so I don't see why the trend will differ.

I had the RS4 B7 and then the M6, and now the M3 E90 M-DCT and the M3 is IMO the best value all round car out of these.
Second that. Had RS4 and now this. Chose this as it is the best small (and hence light enough to be an enjoyable drive) super saloon around. RS4 was good, this is better by some chalk.I know they are very rare at the moment (gen 2 saloons with new I-drive and dct) as a mate, who has just sold his RS4, wanted to get one and found 1 in the country with DCT, EDC and new I-drive at just under 1 year old with 6k on the clock. Lowest price he could get them to at the dealer was £48k!!
I am sure it wont last, but there is not much out there as a comparable. XKF is really in M5 and RS6 category (size wise) and is 10k more expensive, RS4 was discontinued some years ago (shame) and Merc is just dangerous!

There is one at Vines in Guildford (the only one in the AUC network it seems!) Silverstone with black, DCT, EDC, Logic 7 and a good smattering of other options. Up at £48k though! Not for me but no doubt someone will buy it.Yes, show me too!! I`ve been looking at a e90 at Dick Lovett Hungerford

Thanks for the povs, and sorry for getting my E numbers wrong.
Will give this some thought and maybe have another drive in one sometime soon.
Mate I have owned some real nice cars;Porsche 924Turbo,Porsche GTS, RS6,S8,RS4 B7, M6, X6, and now the M3 E90 M-DCT , it ticks ALL my boxes. Will give this some thought and maybe have another drive in one sometime soon.
I do not do coupes as I need the space of 4 seats (which I ordered folding) and the M-DCT is just fantastic, drive one "Run-in" and test it out over 200 miles and then decide.
I'll be interested to try it. I liked the manual coupe I drove a couple of years ago, but ended up with a 997 instead, which I love, but is getting a bit cramped for my soon to be eight year old.
Also tried RS4 and C63. The M3 seemed to be the best bet at the time. The Merc was lovely but a bit one dimensional (but what a dimension!) and I got put off the Audi by various salesmen continually trying to sell me 18 month old cars at list as production had finished by then.
Anyway, I'll organise a test drive in the next few weeks. Cheers for all the input. Appreciate it.

2008 with autos ate around the 41k mark.
2007 coupes with average mileage are sub 30k.
Nothing is immuned to depreciation. Yes they are rare but money is still tight so prices will fall!
Show me sub £30k Coupes???2007 coupes with average mileage are sub 30k.

Im merely pointing out that your comment of '2007 coupes with average mileage are sub 30k' is actually untrue...
