Anyone had their e46 M3 19s 'painted' at Lepsons?
Discussion
Hi all,
I dropped my car off at Lepsons today and although I went there with the intention of getting the 19s polished and lacquered, I am going for the 2 tone paint and lacquer now. I was persuaded on the basis that they will last a lot longer painted before corrosion sets in and the two-tone painted method gives a similar effect to the polished face in terms of the way the light catches it.
Does anyone have any pictures of their wheels done by Lepsons using this method? I've got until Wednesday to change my mind and I really want to make sure I've make the right choice.
Many thanks,
Nick

Some of you will know this but for the people who dont , i work next door to lepsons .
we work together day to day , all of the wheels for my customers are refurbished by Lepsons , their work can be seen on my gallery section , i would guess that 60% of all then car on the gallery have had the wheels refurbed .

the wheels here are more likely what they will paint yours

I guess you spoke to jason or chris when talking about finish etc .
strange thing is talking to owner and still the painter who comes in to my workshop a couple of times a day , that the diamond cut finish is far better for durabilty than it used to be .
The conversion a week or so ago was that since the paint and process changed 16 months ago he has not had a single problem with corrosion on polished face wheels .
And i have not had a customers car of mine which has had a problem either
would you like me to speak to the owner/painter tomorrow ?
here is another thread with some of their work i have posted

I spoke to Chris who took me through it all. He did mention the new process which they were having better results with. Looking at your M5 pictures, I think that finish looks absolutely spot on, so I think I will stick with getting them painted. Will also give the wheels the extra durability.
Thanks again - you've put my mind at rest!

To answer my question, here are some pics. Excuse the state of my car - it is very dirty. The two cars ARE the same colour and age!

I am very happy with them. You do lose a little of the mirror chrome finish, but this usually disappears after a few miles of brake dust anyway. The painted finish still catches the light in the way that I wanted. Best of all though I no longer have to worry about water ingress and corrosion!

Hi Chessers, it was £360+VAT for all four. I would highly recommend them - very professional service and really seem to know what they are doing. They even went to the effort of changing my centre caps for ones that they had lying around in better condition, replacing my M badges (notice how the M badges and centrecaps line up) and spraying my bolts black.
