Hello

Can anyone give me some advice about upgrading my stereo... I want to be able to play my i pod in my lurverly M3 but it says no! Ive tried a gadget that you plug into the ipod that plays via the stereo - rubbish - and recently tried an ice link type thing but that doesnt appear to be any good. I dont really want to change the head unit but seem to be limited with what I can do.... If I do change the head unit any advice on what fits well & also will not look too lary...?
Any help greatly recieved.
Thanks!
Luci

You aren't too specific about exactly what you've tried... but I have the Dension Gateway 100. I had it professionally fitted and it cost about £150-170 all in IIRC. I find it works very well, you can control it from the steering wheel buttons (although obviously the navigation is a bit more clumsy than with the iPod thumbwheel), and it displays song titles in text on the business head unit. I'd strongly recommend getting it installed by a pro, since I think they can be a bit fiddly to set up.

If you have Sat Nav, the best solution is the Intravee - see www.intravention.co.uk

Call up your local BMW dealer,
they normally charge £250 to fit an iPod kit to an existing standard head unit.

This seems to be accepted as the best way to use an I pod in an M3
