Hi guys went to view e39 m5 2day

everything was as it should be but the abs light and traction control lights where on (no traction control)

Got told by the owner that I just need a sensor costs around 90quid from BMW

my question is are the two lights connected.furthermore the tyre pressure button does not work is this a major problem

regards,

yep, all connected, it used the ABS wheel speed signals to determine wheel slip, skidding, and the rotational speed (a flat tyre is smaller than a pumped up one, so rotates faster)

You will need to find out what sensor it is though. A lot of BMWs used a rear sensor for the speedo too, so there is a slight chance you could rule out one rear sensor, but other than that, you'd be guessing

Spot on re the sensors.
If only ABS and TC are out it's the right hand rear sensor.
If the speedo is also out then it's the left one.
About 90 notes from BMW for the part.
