Geometry settings for Z4MC
Discussion
Hi,
I took my car to The Alignment Centre (NW London) last saturday as it was pulling very slightly to the left (apparently they all do this!?)
However unfortunately it now seems to be pulling even more to the left and the steering wheel isn't centred anymore...
They've agreed for me to bring it back in and they'll have another go, but before they do I was wondering if anyone has had a Geo setup done (esp if you havs CSL wheels on) and what settings you had it set to so I can pass this information on to them when they try again.
Thanks
Hamza

factory geometry is M car specific and down to what spec and options were ticked, they will not have access to the database of that info but you might be able to twist your local service department into giving you the figures like I did.
Good luck.
CSL wheels were obviously not standard and therefore not factored into bmw's figures if they make a difference at all....?

That's the biggest load of tosh I've heard all day. Sorry.Good luck.

OP, speak to somebody like Phil Crouch, and if hes doesn't know, he'll know someone that does.
Alternatively, take the car to somebody who specialises in suspension set-up and have the geo settings tailored to suit your own requirements.
This is true with springs so imagine it would be with geo. Went to book mine into local indy I have used for years and this is my 5th BMW. They couldn't order the springs without having the chassis numebr as there are various types depending on what options were ticked.
I humbly suggest you double check your facts before disputing good advice.

Various types of what though?I humbly suggest you double check your facts before disputing good advice.

When Vroom referred to 'spec', I can only assume he meant the options a car (in this case the Z4M Coupe) has fitted, which is why I said what I did.
To validate your claim, I've just searched Real OEM and looked for the part number for a NS Front Spring (as a random norm) on the Z4M Coupe (Euro RHD). I checked against a Feb 06 build and a June 08 bulid (the last month that RHD cars were made - including mine) and the part numbers for both are as follows:
02/06 - 31307838835;
06/08 - 31307838835.
Now, for the Roadster, the part number is different for cars built before July 06 (31307836824) but thereafter, the part number is the same as the coil spring fitted to the Coupe (31307838835).
I was however aware that the springs for the roadster were different (albeit I hadn't realised they used the same springs as the Coupe from 07/06 onwards) but hopefully my 5 minute research identifies that for the Coupe at least (which is what the OP asked about) the springs are identical irrespective of build date, and certainly irrespective of 'spec'.
Hence, I stand by my initial assessment.
As for geometry, the insinuation that a car's spec should affect such - especially when all Z4Ms (both Roadsters and Coupes) were mechanically identical, is quite laughable; I rather suspect and humbly suggest that you are reading into the comments from your mechanic a little too much.
Vvrroomm
was it for a Z4MC that you got the geometry settings? If so would you mind sharing them?
I'm not too convinced that the settings are dependent on the options on the car.... The KDS/Hunter system seems to just take a model and variant and comes up with some standard settings... I just wanted to make sure that the numbers it has for the Z4 MC are correct essentially.
Has no one had their Z4MC set up??
