Hi,

Got my E60 M5 coming up for renewal and varying prices from the Internet, just wondered if there are any specialist companies that are not searched with places like GoCompare? So far:-

Go Compare = £847.96 (provided by Express Insurance)
Swift Cover = £1,080
Adrian Flux = £1,418 !!

Cheers

It wuld help if you gave us some personal details, you could be 80 with 60 years no claims or 17 with none, making the prices stated seem very good wink

Good point!

37 years old, full no claims (10 years +), no points, accident in Sept 2006 where I was hit by an uninsured driver but all costs were recovered from the Motor Insurance Bureau, do roughly 6,000 miles p.a., car parked on a drive, SDP + Commute, living in a postcode area starting "OL"...

Thanks :-)

I will add that the claim was due to "an act of god", in that during high winds a ridge tile of my parents roof flew off and landed directly on top of my M3 CSL frown

Claim was for over £4k.

I use A-Plan for both my cars - find the service very good and the price competitive. I always check the market each year and a couple of times when the prices have not been competitive, they have managed to either match or move close enough to my best quote so that he hassle of moving has not been worth it.

A few minor changes and I've got it down to £707.54 with £500 excess :-)

I could also get £660 but that's £1k excess and it's a bit more than I want to have hanging over me!

Have you tried adding someone to the policy? That usually brings in down in my experience smile

My M3 is insured by Aviva via a company called Motor Insurance Warehouse who are part of Swinton. Give them a try, I pay £480 (29 with 10 years NCB) I also have protected No-claims for that price. If I go directly to Aviva its £1000!! Figure that one out!

Try BMW car insurance. They are underwritten by another insurance company.

They were always competitive on my 330 and e46 M3 cab.

...and when i moved to the 911 they were within £100 of the best quote i could find elsewhere - and with a little push i got the difference down to £40 so stayed with them.

and to add (put your girlfriend/wife/mother on the insurance) - that'll reduce the premium !

E92 M3, 680 with Axa, inc. PNCB. I'm 35 and live in North London, pretty much everyone else was a grand or more, but quotes varied wildly in the 4 weeks coming up to renewal..

Manchester and surrounding postcodes are a nightmare with insurance.
Richard Egger will not insure your car on its own but part of a multicar policy.

If you need any help drop me a PM as Ive been there done that and also live near you.
