E46 prices on the up?

Just had a schmooze at the BMW AUC list and it looks like prices have gone up since last year! Also, there's still only a handful available. Anyone else notice this?

Well kinda..The pound is weak against most currencies at the moment which will mean all imports increasing in price. i.e Cars not built in the UK becoming more expensive and our prestige cars being bought and exported to other countries.

I think he's suggesting that EU/US collectors are buying our more desirable cars due to the weak pound. The benefit we have to limit this though is the fact that our cars are RHD - so unless it was hugely desirable, I can't see it having much impact.

In reality I think it's probably due to the fact that we're coming out of winter and entering summer which is always a favourable time for the car market. I would imagine it's mostly seasonal, although do remember that the e46 has taken a massive hit in the last two years (as with most cars) due to the state of the economy. Decent specced cars are having a bit of a bounce back in values now.
