m3 edition suspension
Discussion
i have a new m3 edition, it is supposed to be 10mm lower than standard, however it is 48 mm higher at the rear than stndard, the front is 13mm lower than it should, as result it touches on all speed humps ect, bmw answer is it is ok,no help no response to the question of why did i pay extra for it to be lower, and it is not, , has anyone had similar or can give any advise on who to speak to, cheers in advance
New cars get transported with some kind of blocks in the suspension which should be removed as part of PDI.....I wonder if your car hasn't had them removed at the rear ? Heard of it happening before.
Great car BTW....very jealous.
If that isn't the problem I would get straight onto SMMT. Not sure how long you have to reject the car etc.
You would think you get get them on Trade Description...i.e. the car isn't what they have described in sales literature.

I wouldn't be happy buying "any" brand new car with hard earned cash let alone an M3, to have problems this early in ownership! I'd kick up a right stink!! It's obviously not right, how they cannot see that is beyond me! I'd be tempted to ask for my money back or a replacement vehicle! What if it's a Friday evening car with more than just the springs being wrong for the M3!!??

opinions please, is it unreasonable to be unhappy at your new car car 1180 miles,
having the suspension taken off and springs meesed around to get the correct ride
or do you think is ok (£2500 premium paid for lower car)
If they can fix the issue, then why not let them?having the suspension taken off and springs meesed around to get the correct ride

ETA. Running in service done, I'd be more occupied thinking about unleashing it in anger

having the susp changed, not really ideal, bmw is not as infalliable as you may think,no apologies or good will just we will change it, after over 15 new bmw cars i think this may well be the last. the new i am chuffed feeling is not there anymore,it is just a car
Ask for a new car then.I feel very sorry about your situation. I had the same feeling when they overfill the oil at first service with reading at home "oil to high: risk of engine damage"
They correct this without any extra explonations
I had another administrative problem about contract of maintenance I think I have to agree with the statement that BMW is not as infailible as it sounds.
I say this not with aggresivity but with shame because I visited BMW welt last week and feel that they are great engineers and a very capable brand.
