Just heard from BMw that my M3 needs four new tyres (gulp) I currently run Cups but BMW are also saying I can put Pilot Sports on. I do not do track days and will have the car for another year and do about 7-8k miles in that time. There is about 300-400 difference in price and the Pilots Sports would seem to last longer. What are you guys running and how do you find the two compare?
I have PS2's on my car and I really like them (unless there is snow around - when they were useless) although cannot give a comparison to cups.
I need to get some new rear tyres within the next few months, but have managed over 13,000 miles so far which really surprised me.
I haven't shopped around for price yet, but did ask in Costco last week and they said £313 per tyre fitted (I am on 19's)

I have Conti 3's on mine at the moment and they are excellent as were the PS2's that I took off the (sold) 225's 19" wheels.
They are waiting to replace the Conti's when they need changing. Proper tyres too, non of the rubbish they fit as standard.
I have a set of 18" with winter tyres so I can drive it all year round

Am actually looking to order a new M3 (once I can insure it) so decided to "hang around" this part of PH, this thread is of significant interest to me as I have just replaced the tyres on my current car due to a blow out. A full AMG spec CLS.
Just a little story that may or may not help, I wanted to order a 285/19/30 P-zero Rosso, I rang kwik fit and got quoted £310.00 per tyre, which i declined, cheapest I found online quickly was £270.00, I then visit the Kwik Fit website, which is very easy to use and find the tyre im after. Online quote £235, £9 balancing, £1 Tyre disposal. Booked it in and saved £65.00.
Might be worth a try when looking for tyres...

Thanks all. I have it booked in on Saturday for four new Cups. Cost is £1300, which is about £200 more than the cheapest quote for PS2. With summer coming up I thought I would stick with what it has on now. The supply problem which I read about a few months ago seems to have been rectified as most decent tyre centres I called seemed to be able to get the tyres in next day.
