BMW Connected drive..Does it still work on prior gen iDrive?

Hi

Does this still work - if you go on the website you're supposed to be able to send addresses / routes to the car (you look under 'my info' in the iDrive and they are supposed to be there, similar if you phone up via the car and ask them to send you a POI address). However, they updated the BMW ConnectedDrive site and I'm not sure if it still works for the prior gen iDrive system, as it now refers to the new iDrive system in the instructions (ie the one with the buttons around the controller on the mid 09 cars onwards - which btw I think is more of a faff than the old system - faster yes, sharper screen etc, but I dont think the UI is really that much of an improvement)...anyway I did try and send an address but couldnt find it, it also refers to texting it, downloading via usb (I have the USB connection)...

any ideas, does anyone actually use this stuff...? If you dig into the online iDrive there's so much stuff in there, I cant believe most of that is ever really accessed....
