I know it was an extra option - whats owners views on it.

I cant decide if I like it or not.

looking at a car today -everything else suits buts still not sure about the leather.

is it much comfier (car is a weekend cruiser - not a track car so no need for sports seats etc.)?

thanks David

Hi David.

As far as I can tell, Heritage leather is simply a stripe pattern on the squab and backrest and possibly all in smooth nappa rather than the standard textured leather. The shape of the seats are identical, unless the car has the comfort seat option fitted.

Cheers
Matt

Not keen personally, look more like they belong in a Jag.... A bit old and stuffy!

If they are 'heritage' then the seats themselves look no different. The leather is softer, has extra stitching and requires more care.

There was also an option of 'comfort' seats which came out the 7 series. Now those looked wrong. They seem to have no side/bolster support whatsoever.

Hi there,

I also find the styling of the heritage leather a little 'old fashioned' as well. That said however, I do know of 2 M5 owners who have heritage in black, and they look much more discreet than say the caramel heritage.

I'm trying to remember if heritage leather was offered in other colours besides Black and Caramel?

Cheers, Dennis!

Caramel heritage leather is a lovely colour contrasting with carbon black. It makes for a light interior (personally I perfer wood over the metal inserts). But it is soft and the bolsters take a beating.

It was also available in green, as is the standard interior, although both are pretty rare.
