Hi,

I am trading in my 2006 E60 M5 this weekend, the deal has been done over the phone with me being perfectly honest about my car, couple of very, very minor stone chips are the only things worth pointing out, the dealer has said that's OK as it's 4 years old and expected.

They also asked me about tyre tread, fronts have 7mm, rears are both brand new.

Now the only thing that's in my mind after going to BMW in Leeds, the front tyres are Continental, the rears are Falken 452's, as the tyres on the same axel are the same brand and they are both rated "Y" which is correct for this car, can the dealer insist that they are swapped to all match?

They have given me a really good price over the phone, I'm just concerned that when I turn up they'll start lowering their price and pointing out minor things.

Thanks

The dealer can insist on whatever they want. It's up to you to negotiate/mitigate the issue.

If they can't sell the car with 'mismatched' tyres then they may ask you to cover the difference by reducing the amout you get for the car.
