Pollen Filter Change - e36 M3 evo saloon
Discussion
Ahhh the infamous E36 pollen filter change.
For some strange reason the E36 has it deep down in the centre console by your left leg around the calf area.
It is a fiddly beggar to change but worth it as mine was black as the ace of spades with dirt.

Seems comprehensive enough.

Not a difficult job at all, just ordered one from Euro car parts for mine; half the price of BMW dealer part. If I remember correctly they used to give us 30mins to change them in the dealer, but usually took less than 5!
Just take you time with it and have a hoover handly to get rid of all the gunk in the footwell that will come out of the old filter.
Basic job;
Drivers undertray off
Footwell duct off (2x clips if still present pop off)
Hand round front of heater box and twist catch on end of cover then pull out.
Use hook on filter to push forwards and wiggle out.
Bend new flter in the two places shown and wiggle into place. Be sure to push it back into heater box to seal.
Refit all bits removed - easy!
