A friend of mine is looking at getting himself an upgrade from is 09 plate Audi S3 to an 07 M3 E90.

One thing he really wants is to make the exhaust a bit more tuneful, not excessive, as its not a track car, but just enhance the sound.

Any suggestions?

Cheers guys

Acutally meant the E92 coupe, not The 4 door.

Eisenmann Race is rated by Tom Carter on here, he'll be along in a minute I expect and certainly from his anecdotes and the video he posted of it on the dyno it sounds great.

Drone is always the worry and that's what I've kept mine standard for now, but I might change that around the end of the year.

akrapovic are the titanium kings; Thorney sell them but at 4.5k it's big money...although there's a used one for sale on here in the parts classified for 2.5k

You tube has loads of videos, worth checking too.

Hi there,

For exhausts on this calibre of car and the exhausts themselves, then yes, go for the upper end of the scale for options. This means as already mentioned, Eisenmann and Akropovic. To add, also check out SuperSprint and Hayward & Scott and Magnaflow. All excellent products and usually many enthusiasts with with experience of each of them.

I think at this level or purchase price, you'd also be able to talk to the manufacturers/Distributors to have the sound tailored for what you'd like. I know this is certainly possible with the Magnaflow and H&S systems for instance.

Hope this helps
Cheers, Dennis

Many thanks for the info, agree that you need a premium product to match the car.

there are so many vids on you tube, not all great sounding imo.

Will do a bit more research for him, cheers again

You have got to go with a Remus race. You will never look back.
I sampled lots of options before going for this setup.

Get over to m3post.com and the uk forum. A well informed bunch on there and very helpful.
Utube is ok but you have to hear it in the metal to get a true sound comparison as with video you are relying on the quality of sound recording equipment.
