Castrol Edge (not sport) 10w60
Halfords do it for £40, but if u go to the dealer they will charge u a stupid amount.
If its for a oil change, id recommend buy it and get bmw to use your oil.
Why not sport? Out of my local car shops, only 1 stocks Castrol 10W 60 and it's the sport type.Halfords do it for £40, but if u go to the dealer they will charge u a stupid amount.

Thanks in advance.

All 10W60's are not created equally, they will vary in the levels of ZDDP and phopurous (a key component for valve train protection), Base Number (acid resistance levels), cranking and pumping viscosity, 10W60 ia a basic guide. ortontom said:

Bought mine from here, excellent service and best price at the time, though if you are a "social media" nerd, I think Opie's offer a facebook type discount.
Castrol Edge (not Edge Sport) is the only oil you should use in the M3.
I work for a company specialising in lubrication.
I have just had this out with our expert as i have found an alternative.

Its not just the 10/60 as mentioned before but the fact this one is also A3/B4 SM spec...the same as TWS/ Edge.
Of course they say TWS is Race Proven, but I think you will find Mobil 1 have had some sucess.
Its 5 litres for a similar price to 4 litres of TWS, but the fact its the same spec means that paying for TWS is silly just because they have the market, as many manafacturers have no desire to produce 10/ 60 for such a small market.
Of course if it makes you happy carry on with TWS, as this one is not exactly much cheaper, but it is an alternative.
Unless someone knows different...........
