What gearbox oil do you use in your E36 M3 Evo?

Hello all,

Another E36 M3 Evo question I'm afraid! I'm looking to change the manual transmission oil in my M3 Evo. BMW recommend an ATF, but I've heard many conflicting views on which one is generally the best. I realise it's a very subjective issue, however my short list is;

Amsoil ATF
Redline ATF D4
Mobil ATF
Normal Castrol ATF (BMW dealer stuff)

What do you use in yours? Has changing from the boggo standard Castrol stuff made any difference to shift quality on your car? Have any been worse?

I changed to royal purple synchromax which is suitable for your car. Made a great difference with cold shifting although I'm going to go back to the dealer stuff which is castrol LT3.
I change the oil every other service which is approx every 30k miles with the M5.
