After a bit of a sudden 'spur of the moment' thing I sold my car - Didn't really think about it, had a very good offer so off she went and will be truly missed. This has left me in a slight predicament, I need to find a replacement in 2 weeks max with very little time to go hunting and even less time to waste looking at misdescribed 'nails'.

If anyone has a car fitting the bill please give me a call.

After a E36 M3 Coupe, manual, low(ish) mileage, outstanding condition with absolutely no rust or marks etc. 100% mechanically re vanos/rattles/leaks. Full comprehensive history..

Not too bothered re colour, 3.0 or 3.2 - CONDITION paramount..

Will pay good price today for special car but as mentioned please no wild goose chases looking at 'dogs'!!!

Can't help with the car but surely you could buy anything as a runabout and take your time looking for a perfect M3, surely better than buying one in a hurry now and then seeing one in better shape with the right spec at a later stage.

ETA: Either way its up to you, good luck with the search

Good advice I would say yes Your conditions are quite strict, so there will only be a few cars out there matching your requirements. If the owners know you are in a rush to buy, your negotiating position is compromised. Take your time and get a good un.

Thanks for reply's - Am in a sort of rush to buy as going away end of the month and plan to take car.

Fairly open minded on car/spec as long as it is manual. Main concern is body and mechanical condition, history etc. Thread intended hopefully to catch an owners eye who might be thinking selling and maybe a friendly nod towards a good car.

Thanks - I know I said I am open minded on colour etc but for me green is a no no! Love the colour but swore I would never have another after the only two cars that I have owned which have been bumped where green..

Why would anyone in their right mind buy one from Munich Legends? And I know that is a special one but you can get a car just as good for half that price. Typical ML premium!

bks has it got 337bhp.

Save £4k and get a decent one elsewhere.

Still looking - noticing a really nice coupe is near enough the same price as a really nice convertible??

Never really been a soft top man. How would one with the hard top roof in place compare to a coupe re weight, handling (shakes!) and performance??

As you can tell getting 'impatient' now - then you lower your guard and start thinking about compromises!!!
Still got to be a manual though!!

I bought a convertible last year, my brother has a coupe (both evo).
It was a bit shaky (not as bad as my TVR was!) but I fitted a strut brace and it's transformed the car.
As for performance, my convertible is quicker than his coupe, then again mine does have half the miles (65k).
IMO the convertible feels more of an event to drive, especially with the roof down, but the coupes are still cracking cars (especially in estoril!).

Great Pretender

Thanks for the info - I do like the look of the convertible especially with the hard top in place. Always thought it would drive like a bone shaker so always dismissed. Maybe time to reconsider!! Not a lot between values either (Coupe vs Convertible) , starting to look at as late, low mileage cars as possible as my budget has been increased!!
