M cats

Does anyone know what spec/material the factory-fit cats are on M Cars (specifically E46 M3 or Z4M if there are differences)?

i.e. are they metallic or ceramic substrate etc?

Just curious as there seem to be plenty of folks willing to shell out for cat-back exhaust systems for aural pleasure reasons. Fine by me! Replacing the standards cars with sports cats, e.g. metallic 200 cell get very little mention though.

Is this because then OEM cats on M cars are already that kind of spec?

Supersprint 100 cell cat is available for the e46 M3/CSL

Milltek 100 cell cat is also available

The Z4M uses a different exhaust system (cat is a different part number too) so this may not fit, although there are sport/race cat options for the Z4M too.
