Has anyone gone from a Tuscan to a Z4 MC im considering it my TVR mates think im mad a backward step
On paper looks similar performance and off course the BM would be built better and no fears of the engine going bang.
BMW not so unusual in looks compared to the Tuscan
but similiar in price
I have owned a Z4 Roadster 2.5 before i got a TVR
Thanks

Z4M won't match the leg room of either your Tuscan or T350, the seat will ground against the trim at the rear of the cabin, but you will have all the safety features and one of the best six cylinder engines ever made.
Post 2002 the S54 is as tough as it gets, takes huge amount of abuse.
Buy another T350,Sagaris or a late 2002 E46 M3 and modify it for the track if you are looking for kicks

You've only had the Tuscan 5 minutes?! I suppose it beat the 2 minutes you had the T350 for though
The Z4M is a lovely car, just not good if you're lanky (I'm 6ft 5 and don't fit in the sports seats, hence the Z4 3.0 in my history). You will not get a stupid grin from the Z4M like the Tuscan though, but you probably know that.

I've just gone from a griff 500 to a z4m roadster. Point to point over a back road, the BMW will get you there a lot faster, I can take known corners around 10-15% quicker in the Z. Noise is good, lovely howl, different from the griff.
The way the Z seems to take off after 5k of revs defies belief, the griff was running out of puff by then.
You can't beat the practicality of the Z, I reckon I'll do 5 times the miles in the Z compared to the griff.
No regrets so far!

Tuscan 4.0 RR to Z4MC
wrote the Tuscan off, so the BMW was a 'safe' & reliable alternative.
90% of the drama, 70% the attention, 70% the noise, 130% cross country ability, 500% the reliability
the highest praise i can give it is that i like it more than i thought i would, and after 3000 miles of hard driving round europe nothing has fallen off! given that the last 2 years i've not made it home in my own car whilst having the TVR that is an achievement!
it has the same 'heman' feeling of being sat over the rear wheels with a long bonnet with a big heart under it, and 'gets up on its toes' on the right road, something the Tuscan would never do.

Can't argue with you there.

Bought the T350 because it had a engine rebuild but it also came with a lot of other problems and i finally gave in 8 months later and P/X for the Tuscan.
The Tuscan was and still is very low milage for it's year a cracking car and maybe one of the best examples around but im always worried with the engine.
I don't feel relaxed always on edge listening and watching the dash im sure you will understand.
If i was to get a Z4 those worries would go instantly.
But the attention you get in a Tiv has to be experienced it's unreal

It's not a backward step at all - I went from a Cerbera Sp6 to an e46 m3 and never looked back. The TVR was a great looker and sounded great, but build quality was rubbish and the cabin could become overly hot. I considered and drove the Z4m in both coupe and convertible before buying my m3; all 3 felt more solid and more sophisticated but were as fun as the tvr, without all the worries of owning a TVR.
I went the other way - CSL to a Tuscan! I should add however that I also bought a 130i as a daily driver... Z4MC was top of my list coming out of the CSL (just fancied a change) but really needed to have something with 4 seats then started to look at Tivs and that was that.
Tuscan much more of an event to drive (needs your full attention and gets lots too!) but it does feel, err, rather fragile compared to the BMW. All great cars but very different.

Test went well with Stratstone Derby.
You don't get long so i tried some town stuff and finished on a dual carrigeway.
Suspension is stiffer i put that down to the run flats but it was comphy enough.
A quick blip here and there was impressive but so much quieter when finally got the chance to open her up some more the car went very well and had a nice exhaust tone to boot reached about 500 rpm now it was beggining to be as quick as the Tuscan.
At above the NSL with the roof down and windows minimal buffeting it had the windbreak fitted.
Steering was light but not over light and brakes were ok i did struggle with the 6 gears and clutch bite i got it together in the end.
Overall i was impressed im undecided coupe or roadster coupe looks alot better but i enjoy the sunshine.
Think i will test the market and put the Tuscan on PH im looking for 22K so top price i reckon.
BTW car had 7K on the clock 2007 model 1 owner upgrades sound system £25K
