18"s are better than 19"s, so 20"s a big no.

In what way do you think 18"s are better than 19"s??

I've driven both and didn't notice much of a difference? I always thought it was a myth made up by folk with the ugly 18" wheels, trying to excuse the fact they never opted for the prettier 19" wheels!!!

wink

No. I run 14"s on mine. I like the high sidewalls, really helps accentuate the whitewall look.

I've had mine on stock 19"s, Csls and 18"s, on the 18"s the car just rides so much better over bad surfaces on quick roads. only way to describe it is it's a bit like riding a flighty bike with and without steering damper, everything is just a bit calmer and more relaxed. (mine is on KW coilovers but I don't think that makes much difference).

So, if the majority of the complete strangers (to you, that is) that replied to your question would have replied along the lines of, "Yes, go for it", you would? confused

Make up your own mind.

I doubt that there is a single person on here that can put their hand up and say that they have tried 20's on their car, and can therefore speak from personal experience.

If you want your car to be a sublime bumpy road companion, for a start you have bought the wrong car for this country (I drove a mates forester the other week, and that would murder my M3 down the surface-of-the-moon excuse for roads around my way), but mainly 18s might be your best option. If you want your car to look "wicked" ( wink ), and can accept a bit of harshness / tramlining / additional tyre cost, then why not put on the wheels that suit your tastes.

Please give us some pictures to critically analyse afterwards though thumbup

Look too big on the E46 in my honest opinion.

See here for an exmaple: http://forums.m3cutters.co.uk/showthread.php?t=177...

Ride quality will obviously be worse than 18's or 19's as you'll have less sidewall on the tire. How much worse is subjective to you and what sort of roads you drive on etc.

One of my cousins has put 20's on his and is going back to 19's cause of the ride.
