Tyre size for E36 M3 evo wheels

Have just got some M3 evo rims(split 5 spoke) 7.5 and 8.5 inch,what size tyres are standard?.I believe they are 45 profile and 225/245?.do they look stupid with 40 profile???.car is avus blue t plate 328i sport coupe(couldn't get hold of genuine bbs X spokes)

iirc its 225/45/17 front and 245/40/17 rear
ive seen some people fit 235/40/17 all round (as per non staggered versions)

A lot of racers do this as aftermarket staggered wheels are not in high supply.
