I've just got an E46 M3 with upgraded BMW brakes and CSL wheels.

I presume these are just the CSL brakes which are slightly larger but the receipt (for £3k yikes) has a red page attached warning that they are 18 inch brakes when clearly they are not 18 inches across.

Does this mean they can only be used on 18 inch wheels or above? I'm just confused as google has popped up a few websites mentioning 18 inch brakes on CSLs.

Brakes are designed around the power, weight and grip of a car and then to fit inside a certain size and spec of rim

Standard e46 m3 and CSL callipers and discs were designed to fit inside m3 18 inch rims and also some a/m callipers and discs (like AP 5575) were also

I would guess that the rd label is not a warning but a pro to buying that brake kit as it will fit inside 18inch rims
