Have people seen these pics of the next M5? http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/f10-m5-discussion...

Notice distinct lack of a handbrake rolleyes Redline looks around 7k rpm and there seems to be an M1 and M2 button (so I guess you can have multiple M drive settings?) Tyres are 265/40 R19, 295/35 R19 which is a weird size that nobody makes AFAIK.

Not really feeling it at the moment personally ... but if it has a TT V8 with 570+ hp I'm sure it will go well enough at least.

Well I must admit I feel a little let down. Perhaps the bodywork is just Mule at this stage but it doesnt look very agressive at all.

Save myself 60k and keep the E39 for another generation I think

Can't say I care about the electric handbrake. BMW handbrakes have been crap for years - none of mine has ever held on a steep hill without being hauled up to the tightest notch.

The rumour is that the engine will be tuned up a bit from the SUVs. I'm sure it will be a great car. Unfortunately, this time it's not for me, not at launch at least. About half-way through its life, I should be able to manage it, once the elder boys are out of child seats and on boosters.

it will be fast, it will be faster around the track than the E63 merc and RS6 Audi. whether it will look and drive well is up for debate though. having seen pics of the new F10 in pics, i wasn't convinced at all. seeing them in the metal...i quite like them.

doesn't make the engine bad though does it?

if your reason for not liking it is because it shares an engine with something you don't like...that's a bit sad.

Guess that depends if 'you' are into forced induction.

no i'm not, trust me. but i'm not going to dislike the engine purely because it's in an SUV. it's sad to think, the car sitting on the driveway here at home, is quite possibly the last ever N/A M car...the E92 M3 (coupe).

i've no doubt that the new M5 will be a good car though!
